Arestin- Gum Treatment

Bacteria below the gumline causes gum disease! Many patients ignore the advice of the dentist to treat gum disease. Gum disease can lead to serious problems if left alone and lead to gum surgery. Tooth loss is also possible. Arestin is an antibiotic that is added to scaling and root planing treatment of gum disease. Arestin will kill the bacteria at the root of the problem. Arestin with scaling and root planing is nearly three times more likely to result in successful treatment than scaling and root planing alone. Using Arestin is painless and will dissolve on its own underneath the gumline. Arestin is a FDA approved and is a prescription antibiotic. Our hygienist uses this product routinely. We have a Periodontist (gum surgeon) in our office, if necessary.
