Sometimes a denture or partial may break while in the mouth, if so, there is a reason for the breakage:
1. A poor fitting plate due to bone resorption (shrinkage)
2. Teeth grinding- too much force will cause the plate to break
3. Natural aging process of the mouth- the shape of the mouth changes and the plate will not fit snug to the mouth
Repairs:
1. Cracks and fractures
2. Teeth will chip or break off from the plate
3. Denture base may crack or fracture
4. We can use a wire mesh inside the acrylic base to support your denture or partial to prevent breakage
